Control Panels

Why should the operator experience be any less than the model railway itself? Hicks Hobbies control panels are designed to look like prototypical railway mimic panels to give your model an authentic operational feel as well as looking good. Custom panels ar available in etched acrylic with white lines on green (for UK prototypes), red (for European) or black (for USA) matt backgrounds.

Our cases are designed as modular, so able to be joined together to make longer panels (just like the real thing). Decorative end plates complete the ensemble. Insert trays with upper and lower shelves for electronic circuitry allow easy access and removal for maintenance as well as maximising the use of space within the case. The cases have modular connection panels with a range of different socket profiles to fit whichever connectors you wish to use.

Contruction is in high grade 3mm birch plywood, laminated together in layers on sides that need more strength. This makes our cases robust yet lightweight, easy to assemble and with each piece locking others into place there is minimal need for glue or screws. The main panel simply slots into place.
